As part of the celebrations for Liverpool’s 800th birthday on the 28th of August 2007 a group of photographers got together to capture 800 portraits of Liverpool people. One photographer taking that many images wasn't really practical, so we each were tasked with 100 each. The images had to be taken in a 24 hour period, on the city's birthday, and also featured images by fellow Liverpool photographers: Mark McNulty, Benjamin Ball, Helen Palmer, Imke Oppenkamp, Matt Ford, Matt Wardle and Pete Carr.
I concentrated on my local neighbourhood; Wavertree, and visited friends, stopped people on the street and went into my local The Coffee House pub for a few of the regulars in there. A couple of business clients helped out and finally I roped in some family members. Really great day out to be honest - the vast majority of people were more than happy being stopped and photographed.
The ‘Eighthundred’ project exhibition later, was a great success. All 800 portraits were displayed at a unit at the Albert Dock, which was very busy with visitors and secured good press coverage in the Post and Echo and has been featured on a number of national and international websites.
Below a selection of portraits and some images from the exhibition preview;

"I have employed David many times over the years, principally as a music conference and high profile event photographer. He is always easy to work with, has a strong sense of what style is needed for each project and brings back results on deadline. He is skilled, experienced and understands visual language and lighting. Additionally, David often helps secure additional PR and media coverage."
